Yury Revich kicks off the 2013 Project Odradek Itinerate International Music Festivals tomorrow evening in Cagliari! full-blooded authority, fleet-fingered dexterity, innate musicality and substantial accuracy... -The Strad Yury Revich is one of the most expressive Russian violinist in his generation, who already at 22 can already look back on an international career and auspicious collaborations with many well-known artists. In October of 2012 he recorded his first album, Russian Soul with ARS; in 2013 his recording of Rombergs “Concertos and Overtures” was released with Sony Classical, along with Antón García Abrils “Atardeceres” through Radioservis. In late 2013 his first recording with Odradek Records, “Steps Through the Centuries” will be released, featuring a panoramic history of the violin, and including three first recordings of works dedicated to him by composers Christopher Caliendo, Wen Liu, and Benjamin Rota. The fall of 2013 will also see his CD of “Mozart and Sarasate“ recorded for Onepoint.fm. He has many recordings on WDR, BR, Radio France, Radio slovenia, Radio Belgrad, among many European and American radio and television networks. He has performed in prestigious halls around Europe, the Middle East, North America, North Africa and Asia. His performances have caused sensations at Carnegie Hall, La Scala Milan, the Musikverein Vienna, the Tonhalle di Zurigo, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Gasteig in Monaco, the Théâtre des Bouffes in North Paris, the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, the Kolarac in Belgrado, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Preston Bradley Hall in Chicago. He has performed in many of the greatest international festivals, including Verbier Festival, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Radio France Festival in Montpellier, the Vladimir Spivakov in Colmar, France, the Rostropovich Festival of Baku, the Festival di Musica da Camera di Roma, the Liana Isakadze’s Festival in Batumy, l’Eilat Festival in Israel, the Beethoven Festival in Vienna, the itinerate Project Odradek Festivals, and many others. In September 2013 he had his debut at La Scala, performing Tchaikovskys Concerto in D Major op. 35 with Milans Giuseppe Verdi Symphonic Orchestra. Other concerto performances include with the Russian National Orchestra conducted by M. Pletnev, the Moscow Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Yuri Simonov, the Moscow Soloists conducted by Yury Bashmet, Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra conducted by A.Slutcky, Georgian-German Chamber Orchestra conducted by L. Isakadze, Morocco Royal Symphony Orchestra conducted by Reshetkin, the Chamber Orchestra The Kremlin conducted by Rachlevski, and the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra. He has toured with the North-West Deutsche Philharmonie, La Verdi Symphony Orchestra, Svetlanov Russian State Symphony, the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists, the Russian National Orchestra with Pletnev, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra with Simonov, the Moscow Soloists with Bashmet, the Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra, the Georgian-German Chamber Orchestra with Isakadze, the Morocco Royal Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, and the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra. Yury founded the Quatuor du Soleil in Vienna, and as a chamber musician performs with many famous musicians including Gary Hoffman, Liana Isakadze, Boris Brovtsyn, Lawrence Dutton, Robert McDuffie, Richard Dubugnon, Evgeny Tonkha, Nina Kogan, Denis Kozhukhin, Daniil Trifonov, and Alissa Margulis. Yury Revich was born in 1991 in Moscow and began playing the violin at the age of 5. At age 7 he entered the class of the Honored Member of Arts of Russian Federation G. S. Turchaninova at the Central Music School supervised by Moscow State Conservatoire. He studied with G. Turchaninova, V. A. Pickaizen, P. Vernikov, and his father, A. Revich. He has participated in masterclasses with M. Rostropovitch, M. Vengerov, L. Isakadze, Dm. Sitkovetsky, P. Vernikov, Z. Bron, P. Frank, H. Schunk, R. Nodel, and M. Gaisler. At age 11 he performed Paganinis Concerto No. 2 with the Finnish Symphony Youth Orchestra Ristavesi, conducted by T. Pogani. From 2005 to 2009 Yury Revich studied at the Peoples Artist of Russia. In 2009 he started a professional career when he entered in Konservatorium Wien in class of Prof. Pavel Vernikov. That same year Yury had his Carnegie Hall debut with Daniil Trifonov. Yury Revich is a past prize winner of the International Competition Virtuosos of the XXI Century in Moscow, the International Competition Oldenburg Promenade in Oldenburg, the David Oistrach International violin competition in Moscow, the OEJAB International Competition in Vienna, the Fidelio Competition in Vienna, the Individualis Competition in Kiev and the International Kloster-Schontal Violin Competition, Germany. He is also laureate of Chamber Music competitions, including Beethovens days in Moscow and the New Names competition. Yury Revich won the prize from the Festival Homecoming. He is a frequent participant of ORF Radio Austria program for musicians. He is ambassador of the Beethoven Center, Vienna, and of the Amadeus International School, Vienna. He was recipient of the Rostropovich Foundation scholarship, and winner of the Russian Patriarchs Christmas Star National Prize, as well as the Beethoven Center of Viennas “Bernsteingeige” Young Musician Award. He is a recipient of the Russian medal for Generous Deeds for the Glory of the Motherland. For several years he has frequently collaborated with Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, which having appreciate his talent, continues to follow and sustain his professional development. Whenever possible, Yury takes time out of his busy schedule for charity events. In 2011 he organized alongside the European-Russian Society for International Cooperation a concert in Vienna for the victims of the tsunami in Japan, and he continues to collaborate with the Kleine Herzen organization, which helps Russian and Ukrainian children. In 2008 the French master luthier, Alan Karbonar, built a violin specifically for Yury. In addition, on the invite of the Stradivarius Society, he has performed on the Guarneri del Gesu Ex-Max Rostal and Stradivariius Duke Alba. He has performed with the legendary Guarneri the King as well. He currently proudly performs on a Balestrieri 1783 generously loaned to him by the Goh Family Foundation in Singapore.
