ZAINE GRIFF - STRANDED Early Eighties Zaine joined the wellknown HELDEN project of Hans Zimmer and Warren Cann. (Helden means Heroes in German). Zaine did vocals in at least 7 songs in the Helden Project, sometimes alone, mostly together with other singers like Linda Allan (Jardim) and Hugo Vereker. HELDEN FAMOUS FROM THE START Helden is a project that always attracted a lot of attention, right from the start. Hans Zimmer - who is now the worlds most famous and successful film music composer with large professional studios in Hollywood - was already quite known when he organised HELDEN with Warren Cann of Ultravox. IN ZAINES BAND Together they already had joined Zaines band many times: at Reading 79 Festival, at different recording sessions for demos ánd Zaines early albums and this project was supposed to be released as the Helden album Spies. The result was great. Several tracks were instrumental, most of them with vocals. The single Holding On was released on 7 and 12, but somehow the album never saw the daylight. It sounds like the soundtrack for a great movie. HELDEN STILL SOUNDS FRESH AND INTERESTING Nobody really knows why is was not released. Some rumours say no record company wanted to release the album from their own ZiCa label (Zimmer/Cann), but even now, 32 years later many people around the world still hope that once the album will still be released.
