ZAMBIA TO RE-INTRODUCE NATIONAL AIRLINE ON JUNE 30 Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga has disclosed that Government has set 30th June, 2014 as the deadline to finalize the re-introduction of a national airline. Mr. Mukanga says government will not relax but will continuing working towards the reintroduction of an effective airline that will contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth. He says government has been consulting renowned airlines to learn experiences on how best to operate the airline once established. The Transport Minister notes that the absence of a national airline has negatively affected the development of tourism, non-traditional exports and other industries that directly or indirectly rely on tourism.
