Zim introduce world-class therapy device ENOCK MUCHINJO • 16 OCTOBER 2013 HARARE – Zimbabw’s leading sports therapy and injury rehabilitation centre, Core Performance, will Wednesday unveil one of world sports’ trendiest rehabilitation equipment. Core Performance will today launch Primus RS at a function to be attended by Jayden Smith, reserve goalkeeper for South African football champions Kaizer Chiefs. Smith will be having his legs tested after suffering ankle and knee injuries in his fledgling career. The Primus RS is a Testing and Rehabilitation system to measure and improve performance for sportsmen on the path to recovery. Primus is an and athletic training machine which delivers objectivity and real time data capture – from initial evaluation and baseline measurement through completion of a rehabilitation or training programme. Core Performance is base at the Innovative High Performance Centre in Emerald Hill, Harare. “We evaluate and treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries using the Primus Rehabilitation System and clinical Pilates, to improve people’s quality of life and physical health through functional core training,” read a statement from Core Performance. Emerging Zimbabwean cricket fast bowler Tatenda Gumunyu-Manatsa, who is on the mend after suffering a stress fracture last season, had a feel of the device yesterday. Gumunyu-Manatsa, who is now expecting to regain full fitness in eight months’ time, was full of praise for the Primus RS. “There has never been technology like this in Zimbabwe,” the Mashonaland Eagles quick said yesterday. “It will take sports in Zim to another level. It will change how people see sport-related injuries. It’s really world-class, the Indian cricket team has one of it, and work wonders for them.”
