Zimbabwe May Never Change. I had an epiphany when I saw that Cuthbert Dube was re-elected as ZIFA chairman despite the scandal. I say this without condoning or condemning the man but it seems as if some of Zimbabwes politicians are incapable of holding each other accountable even when they clearly should. Perhaps they fail to do so out of fear or the fact that they are corrupt too hence the hesitation to throw stones when they live in a glass house. Both parties seems to have this interesting dynamic by which those who want to do good arent given the power to bring change while those who are content with the status quo wield it. In the mean time, the newer and younger generation of politicians gets lured into this cycle of corruption and lack of accountability. Truth is, Zimbabwe might not recover to its former glory but just become another Nigeria, a place where corruption and shadiness is just a part of the culture and reputation. Zimbabwe could get better, but I get the feeling the worst is yet to come or yet to be exposed.
