a reminder to myself: a tattoo, if it is to be applied, whether for heritage, medical or social reasons, etc...., can be tastefully done within each culture; if there is social stigma, some can get a tattoo so their clothes can cover it, (whether long or short sleeve/pants/turtle neck, etc...). some get tattoos so they can feel better about themselves, (a person who was burned and lost their eyebrows/hair/etc.. or person who had/has to deal with cancer and had a body part altered so as to survive, a person who does not have a belly button, etc...). every tattoo has its own unique reason for being applied. it is easy for a person to say that they do not believe it is right for others to do what they choose to for personal reasons, but that does not necessarily make it right in each individual case. Some Religious scholars would venture that a tattoo is not forever to those who depend on Jesus Christ to save them, for they will be transformed in a twinkling of an eye, and have new bodies. - akw
