alarm goes off at 5 oclock, i put on my boots & my scent lock, start walking in the dark to my stand, with a flashlight and my bow in my hand, sit down with my bow in my lap, arrow knocked,so excited no way i could nap, little noises throughout the dark early morning woods , even though you cant see yet..you wish you could, than daylight starts slowly creeping, & under your feeder you can see something eating, a dark huge silouette, but you dont know what it is yet, your heart starts pounding fast, you can see antlers...badass!!!! he picks up his head to look around, than he puts his head back down, this is it..the moment you been waiting for, you take a deep breath...and say a prayer to the lord. you raise your release slow and nock your string, position your body ..and tryingto be quiet & not to be seen, the moment is finally here, you draw back...and put the pin right behind the shoulder of the deer, he picks his head back up and looks your way, your heart starts pounding and your shaking away, gently squeeze the trigger on the release, you see the arrow hit its mark with ease. look to see which way he ran, than you climb down out of your stand. walk to to the spot where your last saw him, and than the blood trail begins. you find you arrow covered in bright red blood, perfect lung shot...thats whats up. you put your arrow back in your quiver, looking at the ground...you see all the blood like it was a river. and there he is... about 50 yards away, white belly and horns bright as day. you walk up to him and drop to your knees, rest your bow on him...and raise his head up so his big rack you can see, a huge mature ten point buck, harvested by me a.. bow hunter..skill not luck. grab my phone to snap a shot, different poses about 50 pictures to me thats not alot, set him back down ..take a deep breath and take one last look, so excited so i tag everyone and post on facebook!! (hahaha) I wrote this to let people know who dont bowhunt the feeling and what it means to us & me, hunting is my life..its what sets me free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
