…and when they had called the Apostles, and BEATEN them, they - TopicsExpress

…and when they had called the Apostles, and BEATEN them, they COMMANDED that they should NOT SPEAK in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING that they were counted worthy to SUFFER shame for His NAME. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they CEASED NOT to TEACH and PREACH Jesus Christ (Acts 5:40-42)… What an AWESOME testimony the early FOLLOWERS of Jesus had – that through BEATINGS, PERSECUTIONS, and ATTACKS, they CONTINUED to PREACH and TEACH Jesus at ALL COSTS! No matter what was DONE to them or what ADVERSITY they faced, they COULD NOT be SILENCED for Jesus’ sake. But here in America where we have FREEDOMS galore, and especially the FREEDOMS of SPEECH and to PRACTICE freely whatever ones RELIGIOUS beliefs or orientations may be – it’s like PULLING TEETH to get Christians to SPEAK UP and SPEAK OUT for Jesus! We’re AFRAID to LEAVE the 4-WALLS of the CHURCH BUILDING to CONFRONT the WORLD with Jesus and His SALVATION that’s for their own betterment. We display nothing short of FEAR when asked to WITNESS, TESTIFY and EVANGELIZE with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the UNGODLY and SINNERS in the WORLD. We can BARELY endure TESTS, TRIALS, and the MINOR PROBLEMS of life that have ZERO to do with SALVATION or SPIRITUAL things, let alone REJOICE in any SUFFERING we may have to ENDURE for Jesus’ sake. So is it any wonder we RUN AWAY from any POSSIBILITY of being PERSECUTED, REVILED, or ATTACKED by the WORLD for just MENTIONING Jesus to them and speaking out AGAINST their SIN. The WORLD doesn’t have to SILENCE us; we’ve SILENCED ourselves!!!
