anhilaal : 3 Of Debt-Ridden Family Commit Suicide in Delhi (September 2013) or Sisters Locked up for Seven Months in Noida ( April 2011) THE REAL FACE OF THE DRIVING FORCE OF INDIAN ECONOMY I. How can it happen in our neighbourhood ? Is not this region the part of India, what the other parts of India aspire to become ? II. Thank God ! It happened to them. Not to us. Phew ! Was so close to us ! III. Come what may, we should work and study hard to land a nice job. It can happen to others but never to us. IV. Somehow, it can be managed. We can have a normal job, family life, friends, relatives but something like that unfortunate shall never happen to us i.e. Development with human face. V. We have everything in the life of middle-class, what other parts of India dream of. Urban infrastructure, education, career, world class health care, high-tech, tradition, and at least, in theory, equality before law, art, culture, religion and spiritual salvation. VI. Is not the goal of ideal well-educated middle class and civil society the drving force behind all the radical and reformist social, political and religious movements ? VII. If you are not able to stand on your feet, no body will care for you. If you do not work or you are not fit for work, you will starve or jump to death. Or, atomise yourself into nothingness. The bigger the fear of fall, the higher the growth rate of economy. VII. The diluted or concentrated fear of being reduced to the fate of sisters of Noida or the family in Uttam Nagar is the real driving force behind our society and economy. X. What all the armies of the world put together can not do is done by constant presence of this fear in every fibre of our society. It can happen to others but never to us. XI. " Let us bring up our younger generation as god-fearing and law-abiding citizens as generations have done it before fearing nothing and ever-prepared to offer nothing but the best years, months and days of their lives at the workplace." ( free translation from old sacred texts of India, 650 B.C.) XII. "We know, we could not enjoy our life but at least our coming generations should be able to enjoy it. " (ibid.) It can happen to others. But never to us. millenniumpost.in/NewsContent.aspx?NID=38333
