anyone else ever scroll thru the titles on the movie channels and see something that gets your hopes up, only to discover the picture is either a bad remake or a straight to video project using the same (or very similar) title? Such is my frequent disappointment whenever I see SAHARA listed. Its almost NEVER the WW2 classic with Bogart, but instead its that Eisner unwatchable abomination with Matthew Mconnaghey. The good news is I watched a cool little Norwegian film called FLUKT (english title: ESCAPE) on Netflix. The story, set in the rugged Scandinavian wilderness during the black plague era of the fourteenth century, is pretty straightforward, even somewhat predictable, but I recommend it; especially if you have daughters. Strong female characters drive the film, but it aint no chick flick. Theres plenty of action, and killing, to keep boys interested.
