architecturenow.co.nz/articles/vale-bill-toomath/ Greatly saddened by the passing of Bill Toomath, a leading architect who designed the hoiuse at 4 Kereru Grove, Stokes Valley, that my parents Iris & Jack got Bill to design in the early 1950s, where I lived for a number of years during that decade. With the prize that Bill got for the design of a house for his parents in Epuni, and of our 4 Kereru Grove house, Bill did a second architecture degree at Harvard, and was able to work with I.M. Pei. One day in July 2007, Bill & his partner Lola kindly agreed to visit the 4 Kereru Grove house, with the kind agreement of present owner Betty Brough. I was profoundly grateful for the chance to chat with Bill and the other people mentioned about the designing & building of the house. If you access the two-DVD set Antonella and the architect, released some years ago, you can find material about the 4 Kereru Grove Morgan house amidst the material ancillary to the film.
