asks lawyer types if he got it more or less right: Him: This is to stupid people who dont understand how the laws work, regarding lawsuits. If you gay marriages lose on a state level and on a Federal Level says it was Unconstitutional in California then *all* states will lose if it goes that far, that because *all* states judges are overturning bans because they know they will lose if it goes to the Federal Courts and lose just like California won in June of 2013. So, ALL JUDGES are saying go ahead and let them get married because its unconstitutional based on the Federal Constitution on the 14th Amendment. Look people you like it or not sorry, man, you lost and all states will continue lose with or without a fight. ITS OVER ITS OVER!!! Cause the United States Supreme Court says it is. Me: Thats not necessarily true. Generally, courts will rule only on the case before them; so-called sweeping rulings are rare, particularly at higher levels. In *In Re Marriage Cases,* the Supreme Court couldve found for all appellants and issued a sweeping decision making marriage equality the law of the land right then and there, but it didnt. Indeed, it ruled only that the defendants didnt have legal standing, thus effectively reverting the case back to the Ninth Circuit panels ruling that overturned Prop 8. Before it got that far, the California Supreme Court or the Ninth Circuit Court couldve found for the defense if itd prepared a good case, or if the plaintiffs case had been We want equality and cookies! You arent likely to ever hear a court say, You havent proved your case, but we agree with you in principle, so we find in your favor. The law is designed that way, if for no other reason than to prevent the activist judges the right wing is convinced issue all these rulings.
