at first, putting the kids to bed was something that needed to happen as soon as possible once the evening drew near. get as close to a quiet moment as possible. but lately, its been really awesome slowing down a touch. i turn all the lights off upstairs, hand them flashlights, and we go to adventure town making shadow puppets, hunting down the cats, whatever imagination has for us. its really interesting to see the tone change in the house when your not rushing your kids to fit your plans, but rather take the time to enjoy them.
