attending jc in hwa chong made me re-evaluate the true meaning of friends. after being here, the competitiveness emerged amongst everyone, even those closest to you and named your friends seriously now if you think about it, how many are true friends who laugh with you and stick with you regardless of your academics achievement? in my case it is none. my friends are just there to trash you in every way they can. they start saying they will screw up their exams and end up getting super high marks, and if they dont get higher than you they start to have bad moods and calling you a smartass or smartkia or whatsover, all out of jealousy. seriously, what is the true meaning of friends if everyone just tries to trash one another in this highly competitive environment? food for thought? of course im not saying everyone is like that, nor it is not anyones fault that they are like that, i still believe it is the education systems fault. But i do feel that there should be some form of change in this, that we learn to see each other as true friends whom we create memories with, and not academic competitors whom you always try to score higher marks than i havent been very happy in this school for the past half a year, not sure if anyone shares the same feeling as me?
