attn: Christians This morning we commemorate the birth of our Lord and Savior The Lord Christ. Many a Preachers Will guide the congregation to Luke this morning and properly so. I Called to the office of Teacher within the church have the hypostatic union on my heart this morning. Allow yourself the time to contemplate this today. The meaning from a branch of systematic Theology , called Christology, of this union can be defined as thus: The hypostatic union is the second person,the preincarnate Christ came and took to Himself a human nature and remains forever undeminished Diety and true humanity united in one person forever -per Moody. When Christ came,a person came, not just a nature, ; He took on an additional nature, a human nature- He did not simply dwell in a human person. The result of the union of the two natures is the theanthropic Person (the God-man). The two natures of Christ are inseparably united without mixture or loss of separate identity. He remains forever the God-man, fully God and fully man, two distinct natures in one Person forever.Though Christ sometimes operates in the sphere of His humanity and in other cases in the sphere of His deity, in all cases what He did and what He was could be attributed to His one person. Even though it is evident that there were two natures in Christ, He never is considered a dual personality In summarization of the hypostatic union, let us note three facts: (1) Christ has two distinct. Natures: humanity and deity, (2) there is no mixture or intermingling of the two natures. (3) although He has two natures, Christ is one Person. This leads to the kenosis where it say Christ emptied Himself , in St. Pauls epistle to the church in Philippi. Many think He emptied Himself of Divinity. This is contoured. The emptying was actually an addition not a subtraction. He added a new nature namely humanity. He surrendered the independent exercise of certain attributes to the Father. Yet followed only the Fathers will as an example.My point church , those called, is that HE IS ALWAYS FULLY GOD FULLY MAN!. And this Union is celebrated as Happening today.
