bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24631342 MY home town has been on the news a lot recently, Grangemouth, Scotland, home to the countries only petrochemical plant. The company that runs the plant Ineos have claimed that the company runs at a loss of £10 million (roughly $16 million dollars) a month, They were expecting staff there to take the brunt of the cost cutting exercises, the staff unions said no and there was the threat of strikes while negotiations went on, Until suddenly just the other day, the owners closed the plant, While the head honcho sails around in his £130 million yacht, they held the entire country to ransom. What did the people do? They moaned and complained, they posted messages of doom, of the town suffering as a result, of the sudden need to move away, They cried out on social media for change, yet very few if any actually done anything, Not many, if any, contacted their local MPs, there was no protest, just a lot of complaining on social media and a lot of spreading baseless negative comments with the only outcome being, other people needlessly worrying about the impending doom. The town has been suffering for years as it happens, where once there was a great public park, a high street full of a wide selection of good shops, now there is not a lot, most of what was there is long gone, The town was an RAF base during world war II, Its a town with a lot of history and has contributed much to the country, It should be a town to be proud of, looking at the town you wouldnt think that it contributes millions to the economy. In steps the government to save the day with a bailout and the people are pleased. Not many of them realising that the government doesnt actually have any money, it does not create any money, The people create the money, the people are bailing out the company, The very same workers who work there are bailing out the company with their tax and yet this solution is cause for celebration? Just like when the banks needed bailing out, it was the people who had to pay for it and oh how they cheered, crisis solved, panic over. Does this seem right to you? So the bailout is agreed and only afterwards, someone says Hang on a minute, lets have a look at the company accounts Normally I wouldnt wipe my arse with this tabloid, but at short notice it serves a purpose. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/grangemouth-bailout-ineos-screw-taxpayer-2528931 The company isnt actually making a loss, They have cooked the books and now gotten themselves a grant from the government to make up for the future investments that the plant may need. Is my facebook profile awash with outrage? Is the same level of hysteria that the closer received happening at proof of a massive scam? No its back to links about reality TV and what was for dinner and if I try to highlight this? I get called idiot, I get told Im mental and all sorts of other things, I get told Im wrong. What do you think? JpF
