bit.ly/1nHhxWK I remember taking a workshop once, nothing on yoga. The teacher didnt like anything yoga. Infact blamed her injury to yoga. Infact the whole workshop was about her dislike for yoga yet taught it at a yoga studio. She felt yoga imposed on her. hmmmmmm Yoga shows us truth of who we are. Reasons we dont show up on our mat. Sometimes its circumstance that wont allow us to show up, but most of the time its the truth. I tell students dont allow the idea that a gentle class leaves you sore or as a hard class even a beginners class. This is your body getting use to loving itself. Something we over look, because we look at ourselves as a tool, rather than a celebrating love thang. Just like in bodywork, shit shows up. In Yoga, things show up. The second we unfurl our mats. The question is, are you willing to acknowledge those things when they do show up or will you deny it and high five the workout of the day? Inevitably, no matter who you are, how long you practice, how often you practice, how seriously you practice, eventually there will come a dark moment of the soul. There will come a time when you move past the body, past the surface, and you will be faced with a mirror of your own faults, your own limitations, your own darkness, and the knowledge that everything in your life is all down to you—the choices you’ve made, good and bad.
