bit of an update on the patient. He has an infection in his lungs which has weakened them and therefore needs a respirator to assist his breathing. This is incredibly uncomfortable, so hes sedated and sleeping soundly. The docs expect the infection to have cleared up by about Sunday, and as long as it has, they will then check he can breathe on his own and remove the respirator. Once all of this is done and were all good, then I can ask the British Embassy to sort repatriation and we should be home within 48 hours. This is all incredibly positive and I expect you to be bantering him within a week or two, once hes tickety boo.
