by the numbers: Across America Boxer rescue is just a few days over 7 months old. our intake number is at 101. 41 successful adoptions, 10 pending adoptions. our rescued Boxers range in ages 5 weeks to 10 years old. twelve heartworm positive dogs. one is finishing treatment, three are just starting, eight have been treated. one parvo survivor. one with thyroid issues requiring ongoing medication. five with severe leg injuries. one required amputation. a new momma with two 1-week old pups. a momma to be, who gave birth to 12 babies, 11 survived. two from a long-time Iowa puppy mill. many with demodex mange and/or severe bacterial infections. one with severe neurological issues and partially blind due to abuse. several with assorted, lumps, bumps and tumors that were removed and/or biopsied. three females with incontinence issues (that require ongoing medication) due to being overbred. one very sick little girl, most likely with distemper. and of course, our Tani, with irreparable heart disease. and it is all because of YOU.
