Experts will give recent examples of successes and failures in corporate social responsibility efforts. Dialogue participants will also discuss public policies that serve as accelerators of, or impediments to, environmental innovation. 5:00 – 5:45pm: Canada/U.S. Dialogue on the Arctic — Tuesday, November 5, 2013 8:30am: Registration & Networking 9:00 – 10:00am: Dialogue II: Blueprint for Canada/U.S. Relations – Innovation The pace of technological change in the 21st century has revolutionized every aspect of life. Dialogue participants will discuss some of the most interesting innovations in recent years and their implications to the world. Government policy also plays a role in the speed with which business can innovate and experts will examine proposals that help and hinder innovation. 10:15 – 11:30am: Canada / U.S. Lawmaker Roundtable 12:00 – 1:45pm: CABC Awards Luncheon & Tribute to Louis Chênevert, Chairman, United Technologies 2:00 – 3:00pm: Dialogue III: Blueprint for Canada/U.S. Relations – Skills, Education, & Labour Mobility The future of North American prosperity in most sectors depends in large part on the availability of a skilled workforce. Dialogue participants will discuss challenges to growing their own workforce and provide examples of how their companies are addressing these challenges. Political factors also contribute to the availability of workers in any given jurisdiction, so dialogue participants will address the politics of issues like labor mobility, training and immigration. 3:15 – 4:15pm: Coffee & Conversation with Meredith Whitney: Author of Fate of the States: The New Geography of American Prosperity The Honorable Howard Dean, former Governor of Vermont, hosts dialogue with Ms. Whitney. 5:30pm: Closing Reception
