contemplating life What keeps us going? It is not mere knowledge that makes us strong. Now I stare at my bookshelves with wonderful books of great writers containing their stories and their life experiences. They act as teachers. I understand what they write and what they are trying to convey. It is just a start, that is to understand. If life seems to be a dream, in which the events have their imprint on the way we perceive life and give meaning to it, we should wonder how to treat our fellow man. We have to respect the fact that we not always know about the inner struggles and the life the other is living and respect our own ignorance so we can start to be less ignorant. A meeting between you and your fellow human beings can only become real if we dare to leave our own context and change our perspective. We all share a similar context in which we together give meaning to life and travel the same road to the horizon, wherever it may lead us. We must find that context.
