cup match this morning against arguably the best team in Sunday league football at under 12s, We have just moved up to league 2 and we were up against a very strong team. We started well and was defending from the start they then scored but we were coping with the pressure. Regan Tyler Thomas Harry Gould Jackcand Elliot were doing a sterling job containing them. they scored another and then we kicked into action , At 2 -0 we gave a penalty away , After a cheeky grin from our keeper over to me and Paul he dived the right way with a spectacular save putting it out for a corner. That gave us some momentum. A free kick from Elliott hit the bar and all of a sudden we were in the game and started to pepper their goal. We were starting to stick it up em and they did not like it , they were arguing and on the back foot a couple of more chances from us then they went up the other end and scored. Half time 3-0, We started well but with only 3 subs today some legs were looking very tired and they were fitter and stronger than us. Tom and Tyler were both playing out of their skin and Haydn was keeping us in the game with some awesome saves. they netted another 4 goals and the lads just looked shattered. Jack Brown thought otherwise and took a couple of players on and crossed but Nath Firth was unlucky not to convert in the scramble . we were beat as they added another 3 making it 10-0, it sounds harsh but they were an excellent team and my boys did themselves credit today. We closed down well and competed. This hessle sporting team have beaten teams in division 1 by a lot bigger margin and we have just been promoted to league 2. outstanding effort from the boys. Tyler Thomas Regan and Haydn were excellent. Thomas Horner had the match of his life at the back, he was strong first to the challenge and some of the tackles were awesome. Tyler was also top notch and read the game well an cleaned up play on so many occasions. Haydn and Thomas shared man of the match. Roll on next week to the start of the season. well done boys :)
