@dailynewszim MANGWIRO BLASTS GIZHA HARARE - CAPS United coach Taurai Mangwiro reacted to his team’s impressive 3-0 win over Chiredzi yesterday by lambasting his opposite number Gishon Ntini for “backbiting” him and attempting to topple him at Makepekepe. An emotionally charged Mangwiro threw down the gauntlet after the match and accused Chiredzi coach Ntini of going behind his back when the Green Machine was going through a lean spell, and tried to get the CAPS bosses fire him. Mangwiro said Ntini, who was jobless at the time, wanted his job. The CAPS gaffer said Ntini “lacked professionalism”, further rubbing it in by saying United’s 3-0 win was “a special gift” for Ntini. “Special present for Gizha, he should know as coaches we should be working together in a nice way not the way he goes around back biting others,” Mangwiro told reporters. “When one is under pressure he takes advantage.” Mangwiro said what hurt him the most about Ntini’s shenanigans was that he had previously turned down an offer to replace Ntini at Triangle United when the Lowveld outfit was struggling. “To be honest with you it’s so sad. When Triangle was not doing well those guys approached me and I was the first person to call Gizha to tell him what was happening at his club. What is doing now at CAPS is now going behind my back. “You don’t look for a job going behind someone’s back, you need to have respect. That’s why you see that he has problems with Bambo (Moses Chunga).” Ntini replaced Chunga at Chiredzi after the Dynamos great was fired mid-season. Mangwiro, however, was delighted with the win, which took CAPS to third position in the Castle Premiership following mid-week’s controversial 2-1 loss away to Hwange. Substitute Leonard Fiyado scored a brace while Kelvin Bulaji weighed in with a goal for the Green Machine. “The overall performance of the boys was good, though we did not score in the second half, our aim was to pick maximum points and remain in touch with the leading pack,” Mangwiro said. “Our aim was to bounce back, we said we needed to recover from the Hwange defeat.” Kick-off was delayed for 15 minutes with the match commissioner demanding licence from a member of Chiredzi’s coachng staff. CAPS United started the game with the upper hand and were duly rewarded as early as five minutes after Bulaji headed in Zvirekwi’s throw in. The Green Machine continue to pile pressure and got their second goal in the 45th minute after substitute Leanord Fiyado headed in Takudzwa Mahoris cross. A minute later, Fiyado completed his brace from the spot after Ronald Maketo brought down Bulaji inside the box. Maketo was shown a straight red card. CAPS were however wasteful in the second half.
