day 15: first day of school for Hooksett. I left Jaime at about 530 this morning, wanting to get back to the house to see the kids off. before I left, I stretched her legs, and when doing the left one, she flexed it! quad, hamstring and foot. good stuff. i told her she was gonna have another great day and off I went. back at the house, Charle had the kids all ready to go. we took the obligatory first day pics and were joined by Philip and Cheryl and Mikey and then later by Heather Curley Chiasson and Chris Moody and their kids Grace, Tanner and Trent. it was bittersweet. watching these kids grow together year after year, its exciting to see them take on another school year. we called Jaime before each one boarded the bus. that was tough. she was very emotional. we talked about it and knew this day was coming, but still, shes never missed the first day of school. the kids took it well, knowing they have to be strong. I recorded them getting on and sent it to J so she could share in it too. then off to work I went. Jaime shook off the tears and drank them for fuel for her PT for the day. she did great. used the bike again, and this time engaging her hands and arms along with her legs. she rose from her chair again. and, with the nurses assistance, took her first step. they supported her left leg, and with her right she stepped forward and then back and did that a few times. the PTs know to push her and shes responding great. a short while into it, Kame got there for some long overdue sister time. they chatted and went outside and soaked up the sun. she did a great job keeping her spirits up. when kame left, she was replaced by Charle, whos staying the night for some mother daughter time. they had a great surprise visit by the neighborhood girls Jessica LaPaglia, Tammy Pelletier-Williams, Jayna Stevens, Nancy Beauchemin-Gosselin, Michelle Quirion Gannon and Heather. sporting their #CarnucciStrong shirts and bringing one for Jaime as well. she loved the visit and wanted me to tell u all again how much she loves you all. me, I got to hang w the kids. did some much needed weeding in the mulch beds ( no wonder I wasnt sleeping at nite), and took them to my basketball game where I got to let off some steam for a bit. it was great to see the guys, feel the love, and then just not think about anything but basketball for an hour. I needed that. got home and we called Jaime to share our day and say goodnite. she was in a great mood and it was good to hear and great for the kids to hear after this morning. hoping to get some rest tonite, and Charle, when you read this, give her a kiss from me, and tell her I love her. thanks for taking the time. #CarnucciStrong
