day 28 - forgetfulness. The great Sufi poet Rumi once wrote: The peacock’s plumage is his enemy. Like the peacock is so involved in grooming its plumage it forgets about its enemies so too We are sometimes are so absorbed in the vanity of this World that we neglect our spiritual wellbeing, forgetting that our success lies in the eternity of God. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)once said :And Adam forgot, and his children forget. referring to the nature of human beings to forget and repeat mistakes. Sometimes we forget, and that is human nature. And it is said that the name insaan in arabic (human) comes from the root nisyaan, which is forgetting. When we forget, we reject. May Allah keep us in constant remembrance.
