#day19 #100happydays I grew up reading Aladdin & the Magic Lamp and I always thought to myself that if a Genie gave me 3 wishes, I would definitely wish for more wishes! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Indian languages, Armaan means wish. And it has taken me this past year to realize that this one special little wish has made a whole lot of other wishes come true! Both for myself and my extended family (also known as my tribe :) Armaan has taught (& still continues too!) me patience, empathy, compassion, balance and how to love without abandon or fear. I have always wanted to have these qualities but I did not know how to acquire them. I finally have the right teacher. Through Armaan, my husband Kam and I have actually realized a long-time dream of visiting Europe! Who thought you could do that with a baby? Because of Armaan, I was able to spend over 3 months with my families in Dubai and Singapore - precious time I never had before. Armaan is also the reason Kam and I relive our childhood every single day - I have never visited so many indoor play areas and ball pits even as a child myself! And going forward, Armaan will be taking us to Disneyland, Disney World and everything Disney! Wow! I am so grateful to this little guy for changing my life forever and making it much better than I wished! And I am EXTREMELY grateful to my husband and extended family for being my rock, my anchor, my life jacket, my light house and my safety net - all rolled into one! Without all of you supporting me, I would not be the person or mother I am today. My lovely sister-in-laws Suki & Sarb, my extremely compassionate brother-in-law Amrit and my angel of a mother-in-law are the reason I am still standing after one year! Time after time you guys have dropped everything you were doing to help us in every way they possibly could (& more!). I can never thank you all enough in this lifetime - but I can tell them this: I love all of you with all my heart! ox And finally, to my husband Kam: I have never seen anyone work so tirelessly to be such a great father. The countless bottles you have sanitized in the middle of the night, diaper changes, toys and furniture assembled, assistance with feeding, attending EVERY doctor appointment and vaccination, and the list goes on & on....Kam, you are the foundation and the roof of our family. You keeps us grounded and protected every single day of our lives. I wish Armaan grows up and becomes like his daddy :) (And a little crazy like me wont hurt ;) So once again, thank you everyone for all your birthday wishes for our son Armaan. It makes my heart so happy to know that he is so loved by everyone. ox And thank you Genie for granting me a thousand wishes all rolled into one: I call this one big wish: Armaan. Happy 1st birthday Mr Monkey Toes! I love you very, very much! ox
