each of us were born for such a time as this, and for our generation. we all are subject to time, as the natural realm is ruled by time. all of us have a time to be born, a time to die. we are powerless in this, and we are temporary on earth for now. the harvest of men and women for eternity is what truly matters. Papa desires that all be saved, heaven is a big place! as each generation comes along, we the church have the command from Jesus to go into the world and preach the gospel. to make disciples of all people, all nationalities, all races. when Jesus sent out the 12 to preach the kingdom of heaven to israel, He made this statement..... Mat 10:23 But whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes. what did He mean? they would not finish going through the cities of israel? is He speaking of how each generation is called to preach to their generation? will the church ever finish this commission and no longer go into the world? history has shown how israel imploded and lost their zeal for God. Papa was very patient with them, overlooking their sin for hundreds of years. israel under the law of moses was not evangelical, but they concentrated on themselves. the gentiles were looked at by many in israel as inferior, and the jewish thought was to keep separated from the gentile, not win them. the outcome of this isolation can be seen in the history books of the Bible. the jewish people fell to the very thing they tried to avoid. when Jesus came He commisioned the church not to stay away from non believers, but to go and get them. a total different concept than the jewish thought. He began with the jews, but then to all the world. each successive generation has this task, for sure it is a wonderful task. the very freshness of God comes when we seek the lost, heal the broken hearted, the sick, set the captive free. if we want the presence of Jesus, we are not to huddle up somewhere and try to keep the sinner out, but we get this when we move out.... Act 1:3 To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God. Act 1:4 Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, Which, He said, you heard of from Me; Act 1:5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Act 1:6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel? Act 1:7 He said to them, It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; Act 1:8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. Jesus didnt mean the men and women who heard Him that day were going to complete His commision, He was speaking to them as the church, the generational church. now 2000 years later, this has not changed. every generation has a harvest to be done. this harvest is the eternal harvest. while we have many good things to do, in the end, it is how many people will be in heaven and hell is what truly matters. how is it thaat the church can be distracted from this? all the quibbling about all the different pet doctrines....or how every so long we hear God is doing a new thing...really? is that what Jesus said to do? fellowshipping is very good, and we cannot be without it, but our fellowshipping should be empowering us to go and do what the Head of the church has commanded us. has Jesus changed His mind about this? has the church become like israel? israel turned away from the lost, and even regarded them as dogs. religion will always do that, become self righteous, look down on the sinner there is no power of the Holy Spirit there. the power of God and the vibrant church is where the harvest is getting done, the kingdom of heaven is advancing, one person at a time. Gods eternal purposes are found in Jesus.....is this what Jesus meant when He told the church we would not finish preaching the gospel even in the cities of israel where it all began 2000 years ago? Rom 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; only Papa knows when the fullness of the gentiles come into His house. since Jesus commissioned the church, this is the next big event on the horizion. while the church may do many things, the most important is winning the lost to Jesus, it is our greatest purpose, it is our eternal purpose..... Eph 3:8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, Eph 3:9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; Eph 3:10 so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. Eph 3:11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,
