Given the level of costs associated with both options and the importance of having the support of both the public and affected schools in implementing any change the county council will continue to support schools’ independence and not seek to implement a two tier schools system across the Uttoxeter schools pyramid. The county council will still need to ensure that schools are ready to accommodate Uttoxeter’s growing population, but will now support head teachers and school governors in individual schools to be ready for the future, as and when the need arises. The petitions were fed into the engagement exercise which informed the decision to retain the existing 3 tier system. The petitions will not trigger any further stages of the Council’s pettions scheme given that the intended outcome from the petition has been achieved.
