erby Licensed Premises Pool League begin their celebrations for 5 years of Monday night pool with an open pool tournament this coming Autumn which will be open to all Derby pool players and those who play in any Derby team league. DCPL, SLPL, DLPPL, DVPL. Corn Exchange Sports Bar will host this event on Sunday 29th September with 32 players playing for a total prize fund of £350 with the entry fee just a tenner per player and places strictly available on a first come (paid) first served basis. The tournament will be played to Blackball rules using the Double Elimination format so all competitors are guaranteed at least two matches. The "No Loss" side of the draw will be best of 7 frames with matches best of 5 frames in the "One Less" section. Once a player has lost twice he/she will be eliminated and the draw will be made on the day of the event at 12 noon sharp for a 12:15pm start. Doors will be open for free table practice from 11am and the kitchen will be selling bacon and sausage cobs from 11am for the early birds! As well as the main event there will be a Speed Pool table running all day for a pound a go. At the end of the competition the player with the fastest time will take the pot! Your £10 also gets you a raffle ticket in a prize draw for a gallon of beer and there will also be other prizes on offer. The club will provide some trays of sandwiches for the players after the first round of matches are completed. The prize fund will be Winner - £150, Runner Up - £75, 3rd Place - £50, 4th Place - £35, 5th/6th Places - £20 and the top two places will also receive trophies. Remember this event is open only to the first 32 paid entrants and DLPPL Secretary Martyn Preece will be at the Corn Exchange on 13/08/13 from 7pm to collect all names and fees. If you are unable to attend the venue on this date you can give your entry fee to Ian Hood at the club. Once we have 32 paid entrants on our list then entry will be closed so enter early to avoid disappointment. Good luck to all entrants and we hope you enjoy the day with us.
