every single great empire has controlled the middle east and Suez canal during their reign... every single one.... Holy Roman, Ottoman, Byzantine, Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Alexandrian, Persian, and now the American(British/Western) empire. Even Hitler took a crack at the Suez. all you have to do is look in the history books. every single one controlled this stretch of land and the Suez canal which connects Asia, Europe, and Africa. the canal alone is the most powerful strategic staging point on the globe and the most lucrative trade route ever known.... watch this! im not making this up. this man was one of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.... do you know what that is? its where the military ends and the Executive branch begins. its the highest military position. there is no higher military position. after that its civilian/federal. and Clark is spilling the beans in this clip .
