evolutionpersonalfitness.co.uk Type 2 diabetes We are all aware of the recent coverage of Type 2 diabetes in the news recently. Type 2 diabetes has risen in recent years and is undoubtedly linked to more frequent junk food and sugary snacks consumption not to mention the fact that the quality of food in the last 50 years has deteriorated drastically to the extent that the nutrients value in the fruit and veg our grandparents are had as much as 20 times more value.... . To reduce your chances of falling foul to the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes which can include blindness, amputation and death, check you cupboards and fridge. If most of your food is packaged from a supermarket even if it is fruit and veg the quality of the produce more than likely will be of a very poor quality. Where possible change your food habits to eating seasonally and locally. Try growing your own fruit and veg, this will also work out a lot cheaper than visiting the local supermarket. If this is not possible make sone new friends down your local allotments where a lot of gardeners will be more than happy to share some gardening advice with you and maybe even sell you some REAL good quality fruit and veg. Substitute sugary products like sweets and chocolate for fresh fruit and minimise the amout of sugar you are putting into you hot beverages, do not be fooled by advertising sweeter is no better than sugar. Advertising is a powerful tool and we are too often ready to believe what we see advertised on tv or radio as healthy eating as being good for us. As a general rule of thumb if it has to be advertised to shift a product then it is more than likely it is not good for you at all, this includes those healthy yogurts we are told are very good for us as well as childrens real fruit drinks advertised as part of your 5 a day which in all reality are just packs of sugar advertised to be appealing to children and at an early age get them addicted to sugar. if you have been consuming packaged food and consuming fluids high in sugar and or sweetener content as a precaution see your GP for a diabetes test and in general add more exercise, water consumption and good quality fruit and vegetables to your daily routine...... I hope this helps you all when it comes to choosing your weekly food shop and helps you to lead healthier lives. Eat healthy and enjoy your exercise. jhuntbutchers.co.uk to
