excerpt from Ervin Dargan. maybe the exorbitant taxes just imposed in CO are essentially that - many more state houses are looking at over-taxing cannabis to fill their coffers. Its a shame because the issue has merit on its own, without having to buy an unalienable right to Natures gifts. We have to meet halfway I guess, and Todds willingness to operate openly and pay taxes, etc are steps towards that Golden Mean. To really get this remarkable medicine to all who need it will require integration into the medical and political system but caregivers and patients need not be punished any more - insurance doesnt pay for their medicine yet, and taxes on medicine are unethical. Ironically, states could save money on health care, as science shows that chronic pain patients using cannabis as adjunct medicine typically reduce their narcotic dosages by 2/3 or cut pills out altogether.
