experience of coming home for Josefino alumni, as the San Jose Seminary community, in cooperation with the SJS Alumni Association, led by its president Rev. Fr. Jeronimo Ma J. Cruz (Batch ’91), held the 85th Alumni Homecoming last 20 and 21 November, 2014 at San Jose Seminary. With the theme “ Bayani at Banal: Liwanag at Anino sa Buhay ng Josefino,” this year’s homecoming emphasized holiness and heroism as virtues that the Josefino lives by, as he strives to live his life in imitation of St. Joseph, oriented to Christ the Lord. The 2-day festivities started with registration and welcoming of the alumni, courtesy of the SJS community, together with cocktails served as the Del Pilar Music Band plays lively music. At about 4:30pm, all participants gathered in front of the grotto of the Our Lady of the Poor for the traditional Salve, the special Marian Devotion to greet the Blessed Virgin Mary. Afterwards, everyone proceeded to the St. Joseph Oratory for the talk and reflection points given by Rev. Fr. Joel Tabora, SJ, former Rector of San Jose Seminary and, at present, President of the Ateneo de Davao University. The whole devotion ended with the singing of the traditional Toque de Angelus.
