finally saw THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES. If you ever said to yourself, Who is the new, young Marlon Brando? --hey youll see him in this movie, kid name of Emory Cohen. Like a young brando. Could PLAY a young Jim Morrison. This is a good drama, with a coincidence that you have to buy, in the midst of it--i guess some people would say this drama about failed love, crime, police corruption, children lost in the karma of parents, is a bit forced to be truly naturalistic, as the film seems to want to be, but its real movie-movie stuff, has a classic feel, and its quite compelling, especially the acting. Ryan Gosling is great in this, every one very good. Strong directing. (Never heard of the director but he is making a movie now, Metalhead, about a heavy metal drummer who loses his hearing and adapts to silence!)
