#followthepink# Case management : Emergency patient - abscess from lower right premolar Chief complaint: pain , swelling , numbness of the lower jaw Premolar - think mental nerve always !!! The edema compressed the mental nerve which produced numbness of the lower jaw .Pano and PA confirmed close proximity of mental nerve Treatment : 1. Open the tooth , drained pus , copious irrigation with sodium hypochlorite and Chx , Calcium hydroxide placement , temporary fill, take tooth out of occlusion 2. Facial Perio flap - same appointment - drain and irrigated with saline : bone loss with mobility 2 and Patient is on active Ortho treatment , young , 24 years 3. Rx - Amoxi , pain killers 4. Follow up in 1 week - finish RCT - Protaper Next . Attention with files !!! You can say hi 5 to mental nerve :) 5. Call the Ortho : patient said that she is done with her treatment in 2 weeks .... Compromised Perio ... Needs removal ASAP with 24 h retainer to consolidate it 6. Follow up !!! / garded prognosis
