friends, it feels a little strange to announce this here, but its easier than calling and emailing tons of people. Ive known for a long time that I needed a major change in my life, and what that change is, and how to bring it about, has finally fallen into place. Ive long felt that our massive federal governments budget worked pretty much exactly the way the budget for most families works: you cant spend what you dont have. Thats why the budget that Paul Ryan recently announced resonates so strongly with me. In particular, I couldnt agree more with our need to dramatically increase military spending, but to make sure we pay for it responsibly, largely by cutting food stamps and medicaid equally dramatically, and reaping the fruits of prosperity that will follow these fiscally sound actions. Reading the budget reminded me of a moment from the recent presidential campaign that really hit home, where Paul Ryans campaign mate said,There are 47 percent of the people...who believe they are victims...who believe they are entitled to health care, *to food*, to housing... Entitled to food! Seriously, who do these entitled people think they are!?! I knew that I agreed with this statement, but couldnt admit it at the time because of how liberal college campuses are. This is why my family and I have decided we cant support this system or our way of life anymore. As of next week, we will be selling our home in Boulder and moving to Washington, DC, so that we can all work full time in support of the Paul Ryan budget and related causes. At that time, Ill be closing this FB account down, and starting a new one, based around practical steps we can all take to get this budget enacted, and turn this country around before its too late. When the time comes, Ill post info for that page here. Thanks for reading...
