friends,the havoc wreaked by the flash floods in uttarakhand is undoubtedly unprecedented in scale and scope. the whole nation has been shocked and shaken by the devastation caused just by two days of rain.even the locals,who remain very often mute spectators to the fury of weather are completely baffled.they too concede that they have never witnessed in their lifetime,such kind of destruction at such a fast pace. the unfortunate thing is that it is all man made.the human greed is responsible for all this loss and damage to life and property. what pained me most is the fact that it has become a routine now,in this nation,that unless the media cries foul and puts pressure on govt.,nothing seems to move. the CM of Uttarakhand remained incommunicado for the first three days.had the administration acted in time,lot of lives would have been saved. i salute the ARMED FORCES, for their stellar role,the real saviours of this nation.while the politicians were busy scoring brownie points over each other,they carried out their job silently without a wish to get noticed,without resting for a while even after having suffered loss of lives. i pray to almighty that at least now the politicians wake-up and take stock.but if the utterances of the CM are to be taken as an indication,more destruction is going to follow,because the gentleman has said that the so called development work will go on non-stop. it is highly irresponsible that he is still unmindful of the fragile ecology of the mountains and wish to adopt the same model of development ,suited for the plains.....may good sense prevail.... RIP.....ALL THE PILGRIMS AND LOCALS WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. MAY GOD GIVE STRENGTH TO THEIR RELATIVES TO BEAR THIS LOSS........ VANDE MATRAM...JAI HIND.....
