...from Rick over at his Seth forum...Yes, many Seth/Abraham people I know including me are big fans of Joel Osteen. Hes from Texas, like Esther; who knew Texas would be ground zero for some great speakers? When I watch Joel, Im convinced he reads the Abraham books. Rick... ron must ramble here...Ive caught TV clips of this Joel guy and I believe I got him pegged right. Im sure hes a nice guy. But hes basically an orthodox, by the book Christian preacher and a charismatic one at that. He shows well and the fluff is quite believable. Hes applying proven sales techniques to push religion. However, his new approach, which really isnt new at all--for example the late, Dr.Richard Schuller did the same with his highly successful Chrystal Cathedral Church decades ago--Joel has figured out that he will get more bees with honey, more money with honey, than vinegar. That he will attract more followers with his brand of sugar-coated religion than the old time, Hell, Fire and brimstone approach thats been around since Martin Luther. No matter how Joel slices and dices the bible, its the same old, same old; in order to attain salvation ya gotta believe Christ died for your sins or you take the escalator downstairs. Joel merely repackages biblical prophesy to make it palatable while begging for more money...more money. Meanwhile, the fluff becomes the perceived truth, go figure...ron, Teflon-coated Sethian
