I just see an uncle and some cops trying to keep cool and do their jobs, despite an annoying so-called activist (THATs how to use the word so-called. Ha, take that, media, new media and english teachers across singapore!) repeating pointless and unrealistic questions ad nauseam (which statute? show me the statute!) and being totally unreasonable. (you think that uncle holds all the statutes in his head??) Whats wrong with talking in the corner of speakers corner? Off Camera Man (assuming its some Roy something or other guy) says its not visible enough. Seriously? Its not like its freaking central park or hyde park. The entire park is minuscule and FLAT. And how many pedestrians and drive by victims you think are gonna take the effort to support your tired old Down with CPF and Gahmen rants? Visibility my eye. They could very well have said ok, and held their peaceful protest in the reallocated area (Not like the nparks director told them to get off the park!) and lodged a formal complaint to the nparks coordinators later about the double-allocation of park space. Or they could have opted to rebook the protest on another day and ensured it was clear of other events. Or held two protests, one in the corner of shame and another in the chosen spot. The whole show me the statute thing is also damn childish. You want to know the law? Ask a lawyer, not the Nparks director uncle, or better yet, ask Mr Google.
