had my port a cath installed yesterday,it was a terrible experience,was told i would be put to sleep but they only gave me a mild dose of anti anxiety medication,i feft every cut, and every stitch! the worst part iwas they completely covered my head with a blue paper,as many of you know i have sever panic and anxiety disorder not to mention i am claustrophic not a good feeling,i felt the panic coming on,and asked if they would please remove the cover from my head,the dr said ms.williams,we cant do that because some people get upset at the sight of blood.i told them the blood would not bother me at all,but they still wouldnt uncover my head it was a terrible two hour ordeal,now,my neck is taped up so tightly i can barley move it.sure didnt get much sleep last night.
