had to run an errand... Went to grab a $5 KFC dinner and while there... In the parking lot was a young man and young lady going from person to person... I went in and got my meal and went back out to my truck... as I was driving away.. the young lady looked my direction.. She was crying... I rolled my window down and asked if she was ok.. She explained that her family kicked her out and she was living in her car with a friend, who just got his job but has yet to get a check... she was upset as she was outside goodwill and had been asking for 3 hours for $2.50 so she could go in and purchase a Bra. I stopped the truck and went into the dollar store to break a $20 for her, she broke into tears and genuine emotion took over.. she asked me why would I stop to help? How come Id just give her the money.. I replied that it isnt important why I did it. I just did. :)... I handed her $15 {I needed a couple bucks ;)} and she went right into to make her purchase .. as she did, I could see him watching us talk, I walked to him and told him I wish him luck and that I gave her some money for gas. I asked him if he needed anything.. He replied with a handshake and a no sir, thank you. as he and I were chatting a bit she came out and told him this guy gave us gas money and ran to give me another hug... I then said are you sure that you dont need anything else, as Ive seen a few ignore you and I am here and wiling and able to help. with some hesitation they allowed me to get them each a chicken strips meal and drink. Buddies, good thoughts for Kevin and Michelle.. two who need a bit of a break. Also- take the time out of your busy drama, to make some ones day better.. it took a few bucks, a hug and some kind words. I feel like I made a difference for someone today and I hope their fortunes get turned for the better.
