have done a bit for oonly a couple of paragraphs This is the story so far The Characters of the Tomorrow People are not mine. They are the property Of Thames Television and Roger Damon Price. All other Characters are my creation. Except for the people asking questions who are actual people and have given their kind permission to be used in this story. Synopsis John and Mike attend a sci-fi convention. Though it does not go according to plan. Mike Bell had just arrived home after dropping his children off at school. For their last day before the Easter holidays. He put his car keys down on the hall table, as he walked to the lounge he felt his phone vibrate in his back trouser pocket. Mike took it out and saw that it was his old friend Andy. Who was also his agent he pressed the answer button to accept the call. “Andy, long time no hear how are you?” “Hey Mike, Yeah sorry I haven’t been in touch had a few problems. Listen I have heard about a Sci-fi convention-taking place next weekend. It’s not that far from you. It’s in Bournemouth at the big conference centre there. I have spoken to them and they are keen for you Tomorrow People to do a Q&A with some of the fans. “What fans?” Mike questioned. “There is only a few saps who know about us.” “Mike, Don’t act dumb, have you looked on Facebook recently?” “No, I haven’t had time, why?” “Go and type in the Tomorrow People on to Facebook’s search engine and have a look at what comes up then ring me back.” Filled with curiosity Mike cuts the call of and goe’s into the study. Turns on his laptop, checks out his Facebook page. Then did as Andy requested. He cannot believe his eyes one group has over one thousand members. And his friend Sue had just posted on there. “What the hell, I’m gonna have to show this to John.” Mike walks into the lounge and sees John sitting on the sofa. With his feet up on the coffee table. Reading the paper, he asked him to come into the study and bring his reading glasses with him. Mike show’s John the Facebook group. John could not believe it. And some of the members were saying about the convention and that they were planning to attend. “My agent Andy has rung me and he has asked us if we would go along as guests and do a Q&A session there. What do you think John? Would the trig let us do it?” “I can’t see why not as long as we don’t tell people too much information. I cannot see any harm. But we will have to be careful Mike. It could be a trap.” “Ok I’ll call Andy back and give him the news and ask him to find out what time we have to be there and what we have to do. And I think we had better go in with stun guns just in case.” John gently suggested Mike picked up the landline that was next to the laptop and called his agent back. Andy said he would email over the details. “I’ll let the organisers know you are attending.” As Mike put the phone back the email arrived. He read it through. Then printed out a copy for John. Mike saved the email just in case they lost the printout. THE DAY OF THE CONVENTION Mike and John arrived at the conference centre in Bournemouth. An hour before the general public were let in and went straight up to the green room. Mike went straight to the coffee machine and made himself a coffee. John got himself an orange juice from the jug that was on the table. All the other stars from the sci-fi shows were there. Mike recognised one of them. He went up to him. “Tony how are you, it’s me Mike Bell. We were in panto together a few years ago.“ “Mike of course,” Tony seemed confused. “I’m fine how are you these days.” “I’m great became a granddad three years ago. Twin boys.” “Joe’s or Pavla’s?” “Pavla’s, she got married last year.” “Give her my love.” “Will do, catch you later.” Mike went back to John and wondered why John was giving him a funny look. Then he noticed John was pointing to his trouser zip. Mike quickly pulled his zip up and sat down at the table and finished his coffee. He was getting nervous about the Q&A session. What was bothering him was how had the organisers known about the Tomorrow People. And why hadn’t they known about the group on Facebook before. But he put his fears behind him and didn’t let John pick up on it. The organiser who was a young man called Mark Dando. Came to take them downstairs to the convention. He called John and Mike as they were on first. They got up and followed him downstairs to the main arena. The announcer was getting the audience ready for them. “Hello Ladies and Gentlemen Welcome to Britt sci-fi Bournemouth. We have two very special guests here today. So without further ado I call onto the stage Mr Mike Kearton Bell.” With that Mike walks on to the stage waves to the audience and finds his seat and sits down. “And Mr John Dixon” John comes on to the stage and sits down.The announcer welcomed Mike and John to the convention and asked if anyone had any questions Several people in the audience put up their hands wanting to ask their hero’s a question. One Lady named Paula asked her question. Paula Faust Do you keep in touch with Chris Harding? If so, what is he doing nowadays? Mike answered her question “Hi there, we haven’t really seen Chris for a few years. But we do keep in touch with him on the phone and via Facebook. He is living in New Zealand now with his wife and children. He is very well and happy and sends his love.” Michael and Susan Deardon If you hadnt become a Tomorrow Person what would have been your chosen career?” John answered first “I would proberly have been an doctor or a policeman as my father was a policeman.” Mike took his turn. “I would have been a drummer in a pop group. Actually I have my own pop band, we are called the ‘Fresh Hearts” and we still play a few gigs. So that would be my chosen career.” John interrupted Mike “I believe Mike even does a bit of acting on the side as well.”
