he power of prayer is amazing. I love US history and consume the western genre, with emphasis on first tribes’ people. Many colonial medicines came from the various Indian tribes. The medicine men were often both the doctors and priests of the tribe. They were honored for their knowledge and wisdom. One of the primary characteristics of their care was that they saw illness or injury as both a medicinal and spiritual issue. Over the years I have adopted this, with my first reaction to illness being prayer. Over the last 4 years I have been to the ER and hospital easily 10 times. Several times medically I was near death to the point that the doctors were amazed that I was still alive.. (Once I was rushed to the hospital with an infection that covered all of my left leg, nearly to the groin. It was so important to get antibiotics into me that they wanted to put an IV into me into my throat, which required an incision. The first cut was inaccurate and I had my throat cut with blood literally spirting out and covering my hospital gown and bed sheet. Imagine the flurry of excitement for the next couple of minutes.) Through this experience, as well as all the others I had no fear. I was the personification of Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. I pass this on to share the secret of my surprising extended life. God’s promises are yes and amen. I kept my feet up yesterday and over the day and night the medication was surprisingly effective and I lost 5 lbs of water. My feet and toes no longer look like sausages. Many, many thanks to all of you who prayed for me. Those prayer, as always, were most effectual. May the Lord’s love be with you today. Nicholas
