here is my top XI of this world cup, with my explanation, my formation is 4-2-3-1: Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer, honestly my other choice is Keylor Navas, the Costa Rican was very consistent and conceded only 2 goals in total. Neuer is, however, acting as an extra sweeper, being that requires extra speed, accuracy and mental capacity, one wrong move and the goal will be an enpty net. Seeing him in action you root for him. o and Tim Howard deserved an honorable mention too. Left Back: Daley Blind, has to be him, 4 assist and one goal, defensively he has contributed a lot too, there is no goals conceded from the left flank for the dutch man. central back: Mats Hummels, 2 goals is not the only assets he can offer. If you want to see his influence, just watch how much hard time Germany back line has in the Algerian match when he is absent. Granted german victory comes from team work, but Hummels influence is undeniable. On top of that in matches like against brazil he also acts like defensive midfield. central back: Ezequiel Garay, it is a major injustice for me to not include him. With a average of 15 clearance per match and a success passing rate of over 98% average, his consistency for the Argentinian back line. Right back: he provided consistent performance both in the right back and defensive mid, but it is performance at the back that pushed Germany to victory. he is relently at defense and it is his leadership that organizes the entire German back line, not to mention his runs provided many assists too. defensive midfield; Bastian Schweinsteiger, if almost 100% passing accuracy not good enough, his dedication in the final is absolutely brilliant. just look at how many abuses he has taken you will know how desperate Argentinian is to stop him. defensive midfield: Javier Mascherano, providing a 86% accurate long pass he certainly provided stable supply of long pass to the front. His defensive effort is also great, the blocks and interceptions has helped Argentina with 4 consecutive clean sheets. Right Wing: Leo Messi, though personally (Messi fans please dont kill me) I dont think golden ball should go to him, his contribution to the Argentinian attack is undeniable, no need to show stats you will know how important he is. The best part for me is this: even when all the teams known to close down messi means to shut argentinan attack, messis unselfishness still manage Argentina to score goals. attacking midfield: James Rodriguez Oficial, 11 key passes, 2 assist and a golden boot. if that is not enough, he is only 23 years old!!!! He still have a lot of room for improvement. he organized and excuted almost all the Columbian attack, making people almost forget the loss of Falco. Left Wing: Neymar Jr. watch Brazil with and without him and tell me the different Striker: ARJEN ROBBEN, this is a tough choice, realistically he should be at left wing but he is playing striker and since there is no reliable striker in this world cup i will put. I wanted to put Thomas Müller but he is not sharp for striker and slightly slower for winger. how to sum up Robben: dutchman dont need Bat-Van, they have already got Robben!!!!! sub+ Honorable mentions: Keylor Navas, Tim Howard, Vertonghen (belgium defense backbone), HÉCTOR MORENO, Muller, André Schürrle, Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, Klose (history man and my childhood hero)
