:( here is the latest yuck from my school district regarding my 12 week test refusal Please tell me what to do... ! I am thinking of questioning this person heavily about detailed aspects of the 2 standardized tests my kids were given, like where does the info/data go? who keeps it? what were their scores? give me a hardcopy of their test & hardcopy of their answers...? , Mrs. Shipe: Your previous email was incorrectly addressed. The Board of Education does not have the ability to answer your question. Boards of Education in Ohio are policy and governing bodies. They employ superintendents, among others, to administer the educational and operational aspects of the school district. Thus, as you have in the past, please address these types of questions to me as superintendent of the school district. Here is a repetition of the information(answer) you were given in a previous email request. 1) Your daughter - was administered the KRA assessment. 2) Your son - was administered the Ohio Reading Diagnostic Assessment for 2nd Grade. As I have repeatedly stated in the past, if you would like your children to not be administered state assessments, then submit the district provided Opt Out Waiver. During your presentation to the Board of Education, I believe you stated that you do not believe the district created Opt Out Waivers would be honored. I would like to point out that is an incorrect statement and assumption on your part. The waiver was created to document your refusal in the event the Ohio Department of Education would request documentation from the district concerning your children not being administered the legally required assessments (per guidance from the department). I will again assure you that if you submit the waivers that you have been given, your children will not be administered the required state assessments. Mr. ____________ Superintendent of Schools
