hmmm got spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove.. making my house smell divine.... gonna try my hand at some homemade pasta to go with it.. yum.... I always think of Momma when I make spaghetti.. when I had first started college, both of my parents started acting funny.. Daddy would call me and in his awkward probing way.. ask me hows your attitude lol Momma was drowning me in fried chicken every weekend I came home.. and pushing off bags of left over chicken on me to take back to school each weekend.. I asked my mother about my fathers behavior,.. she explained he had read there were more suicides with freshman college students than any other age group.. from being away from home, the stress etc. He was just checking up on me in his own way (soft smile) I asked Daddy about Mommas new fried chicken obsession.. I was worried my going to college was creating a financial hardship hense a steady diet of fried chicken?? He told me he had shared a story he read about depression in freshman college students so she kept making all that fried chicken knowing it was my favorite (giggling) I laughingly explained to him that fried chicken WAS NOT my favorite.. that was TODDs (giggling) mine was SPAGHETTI, He laughed and then swore me to keep this our lil secret since Momma was working so hard on the fried chicken.. and if I told her the truth and burst her trying to make me feel safe and happy bubble Id be in deep do LOL Families.. amazing the things the littlest things like cooking spaghetti sauce reminds you of (soft soft smile) Bon Apetite!!!
