hope this helps even a couple of waverers...if even one of you thinks twice then its worth it. The whole campaign waged by yes has been based on a lie. The lie is simple: they want independence at any cost and so will tell you anything to get your vote. Have you - while perhaps feeling drawn by patriotism, and talk of a new start where were all rich stopped to think about how Brian Souter AND Dennis Canavan can both believe theyre getting exactly what they want after a yes vote? How they can cut business tax and yet have RCP, SWP, Solidarity etc campaigning for them? How they can trumpet oil revenue as salvation and yet have Green Party in bed with them? What of the main battlegrounds of the campaign? How they can increase private contracts within NHS and yet say that cannot ever happen under their leadership? NHS targets being missed - yet its entirely devolved? There will be no currency union- you know that now I assume. The risks of a sterling zone are great...do you know what they are? Do you grasp what this could mean for massively increased government spending? If not you cannot vote yes with a clear conscience. What sovereignty is there when Scotland has no LOLR, and is thrall to Bank of England for monetary policy? Passports/borders - if we are to have 500,000 immigrants over next decade then there will be border controls. Thats been explained by everyone involved over and over. Its a dreadful thought but its reality...is that what we want? EU? Scotland will apply and perhaps gain entry in 5-7 years after painful moved to endure convergence. Do you grasp the issues? Whats involved? And perhaps finally with EU why would anyone risk such a venture when were already IN a free trade union with our largest market - a market that has for centuries been the largest market for Scottish people, goods, services, ideas? We share bonds of culture, language, history and experience...and wed risk this to join a far more uneven union where Scotland would have LESS sovereignty? Think this over before the 18th. Democratic deficit? So in iScotland you personally will win every election? How? Can you say that hand on heart? You vote, you sometimes dont get your party in...thats what parliamentary democracy is. There is no way SNP can fix that. Accountability? What difference will distance make to the political classes? Why would standards improve re behaviour, intelligence and vision? Scotland has politicians...theyre mostly crap. That wont change. You have all been promised McUtopia...everyone has. Doesnt that make you suspicious? Can it be true...all of it? Everything will be great for everyone all the time? Thats not real life...at the moment UK is only part of EU thats growing, creating jobs and increasing its GDP and income - which means more money for governments to distribute. So we risk that? We jump ship in case its all great at some point in the future due to a medieval border and outdated concepts of patriotism? Think...thats all Id ask. Dont rush around in hysteria....sit and think over a cup of tea. If something seems too good to be true it probably is.
