https://facebook/LorenBReeseBooks WHO ARE THE LYCANBORN? 1. Lycanborn: Dionluna’s original race. The Lycan is agile and fierce. They bear very large eyes and dog-like ears which sit on top of their heads, accompanied by claws and fangs which can be unsheathed at their own free will after they hit puberty, or after their turn. Lycans worship their mother goddess of the moon, Dionluna, and forbid any practices or teachings of her sister’s lore, Dionfierti, the Goddess of the Sun. They live on the mainland, bordered by two vast forests to the East and to the West of the two civilizations, one in Blackroot, and one in Stillwater. 2. Turn: A Lycan’s turn is when they hit puberty and mature at a very quick pace. When a Lycan hits puberty their growth accelerates exponentially in a matter of minutes or even hours. After their turn they can access their ‘turn adrenaline’ or ‘divine blood’ which allows the Lycan to use their claws and fangs. If the Lycan is of an Alpha Kai bloodline they can use their turn adrenaline to strengthen any part of their body making the Alpha Kai bloodlines the strongest of their kin next to the Magisters of Stillwater. 3. Turn Adrenaline: The Lycan’s most dangerous weapon. A Lycan’s turn adrenaline can accent any physical attribute like their claws, fangs, sight, hearing, or agility. If the Lycan is of an Alpha-Kai bloodline, the turn yields supreme control over one’s turn adrenaline and can then be allocated to any part of the body. According to ancient lore found in the Obelisk of the Moon located in Stillwater, another name for the Lycan’s turn adrenaline was, the ‘divine blood’. But the blood’s origins are still unclear. The Bloodlord is the strongest of the Alpha Kais, and rules the Land next to the Moonlord. Yet, there was always a fatal attraction between the two. 4. Bloodlord: The Bloodlord is known throughout the Land as one of the strongest Lycans to ever live of that generation. The emerald-eyed bloodline of Blackroot had held onto its seat of power for many, many centuries after the Ancient War, until heretical prophecies knocked the emerald-eyed family from their prominent standing amongst the Stillwater community. Their eyes are fabled to turn so bloody that you couldn’t even see their pupils. The emerald-eyed bloodline were always full of rage and spite and even with their backs against the wall their instincts won every battle. 5. Moonlord: The sole leader of the Magisters of Stillwater, making their numbers an odd 51. The Moonlord is always highly respected and feared by the Lycanborn that live in Stillwater. Because, for some reason they felt that the Moonlord always had something to hide from the public’s ears behind those glassy, icy eyes. 6. The White Ones: The fabled five Lycans that brought the Land back together after the Ancient War. According to Lycan lore, the White Ones have always been there, and were in direct communication with the Goddess herself. The White Ones were considered deities and folklore made up by scholars that couldn’t explain a modern means to justify the ends thousands of years ago. 7. Magister of Stillwater: All Magisters are born from the icy-eyed bloodline of Stillwater, and only fifty can remain alive at one time with their Moonlord running the Lunar Order above them all. Magister’s are known for their signature glowing, white eyes when they tap into the Lycanborn’s ancestral moon. Their power is unparalleled in battle, and after the fall of the last Bloodlord of Stillwater, Magisters were forbid to use their powers ever again, unless deemed necessary. No one really knew of the Magisters intentions, because, purely, ignorance cloaked the Lycanborn blind even more than they could possibly know. Reigning over the Magisters of Stillwater is the Moonlord the strongest of the Lunar Order, and the most terrible when put to use in war. 8. Dionfierti (Sun) The Goddess of the Sun. Dionfierti was punished by her sister after the Ancient War and was cursed to chase the moon around the horizon for the rest of time. Used to rule the Land with man’s own hand, but was thwarted when the Children discovered their true potential before the dawn of the Ancient War. Dionluna, her sister of the Moon, couldn’t save all but a few of her precious Lycanborn, and the Land wasn’t taking kindly to Dionfierti’s rash bout of near genocide. No one worshipped Dionfierti since, or so the Lycanborn still think. 9. Dionluna (Moon) The Goddess of the Moon. The younger sister of the two, Dionluna sees life as a precious and unobtainable thing. She created the Lycanborn in her own image, howling to the moon to sate the Goddess that gave them the life that they ultimately deserved after the Ancient War. Said to have crafted the first Magister by hand from a legend still undiscovered by historians and professors of history in Stillwater. The Moonlord and the Bloodlord were the only ones allowed to know what lied in the Obelisk of the Sun, but what they found wasn’t what they expected after all. They never discovered a legend, but a Pact written on the Obelisk’s walls thousands and thousands of years before the beginning of the Ancient War. A law was passed after the Ancient War forbidding any Lycan to enter the Obelisk of the Sun. If indeed they succeeded, the Lycanborn who committed false worship would be executed in the Court of the Summons for reading heretical literature. 10. The Lunar Order of Class (The Land of the Lycanborn): 1. The White Ones (The Mount) 2. Bloodlord and Moonlord of Stillwater (Male, emerald-eyed bloodline/ Male, icy-eyed) 3. The Magister’s Court or the Lunar Order of Stillwater (Male/ Female, icy-eyed) 4. Alpha Kai of Stillwater (Male) (Divine Blood, Citrine eyed bloodline) 5. Alpha Kai of Blackroot (Male) (Divine Blood, Emerald eyed bloodline) 6. Alphas (Male) 7. Alphas (Female) 8. Betas (Male) 9. Betas (Female) 10. Gammas (Male and Female) - The Lunar Order of Class acts as a caste system to breed the strongest Lycans with the fittest mate. Beta males cannot bear children while Alphas are told to do so. The only Beta alive that can bear a child with a mate is a Magister of Stillwater. Magisters are born Betas and raised as such until they have discovered their ‘moonlight’, which allows them to use their exemplary power in battle. This usually happens when the Beta turns or hits puberty. Alpha Kais are thrown into war without even a warning because they were bred as such. And, Gammas are stripped of everything they ever were once they were banished to Gamma Rock. Gammas were never born Gammas, they become one after a trial in the Court of the Summons. LOCATIONS: Stillwater: The largest city in the Land of the Lycanborn. The Docks point south at the Southern Seas, where the whole world awaits, but no ships to sail on its quiet waves. On its north and south face, two Obelisks stand tall over the highest buildings of Stillwater. One for the Moon, Dionluna, and one in the bay for the Sun, Dionfierti. The Mainway is the largest commercial trading route between all of Stillwater, and at its end lied the Stage. The place where, on Dionluna’s Day, the Bloodlord would speak to the Lycans of Stillwater of what was going to be planned for the future of the Land. Blackroot: A quiet, beautiful village with rich history and legendary ancestry that kept the Blackroot Tree alive for thousands of years. Its canopy’s shadow stretched to the ends of the forests, stretching its leaves for miles in every direction. At the foot of its gnarled, ebony roots the giant, Blackroot Lake was the eternal resting place for the ancestors of Blackroot. When their bodies sank to its dark depths it would grow forever with Blackroot Tree, in an eternal bond with the Goddess herself, and to a place that the Goddesses promised them all once before. And at its front door, the Archway, carved of the Blackroot Tree’s ebony bark, opened its doors to the world before them as a sign of peace and benevolence. The Garnet Sea: North of Stillwater’s granite walls lied the desert made of copper sand. The Garnet Sea not only held secrets amongst its sanguine waves, but a place of rest for the Lycans of Stillwater. The Springs of Ferntide was always a final stop when trekking through the unforgivable desert. They say the Springs quenched your thirst for weeks after having a single gulp of its crystalline water. Not only was it a place of refuge, but a place of passing. Scattering a deceased Lycan’s ashes into the water of the Springs was thought to give the Lycan a pass into the other world. From something beautiful there has to be something magnificent on the other side of the water. The Barren Fields: The terrible fields to the north of Blackroot hold no life except for that of the venomous, cannibalistic Gammas slinking around its dusty corners. The Barren Fields were once lush and full of life, so the Lycanborn only found it fit to blame the Gammas for its demise. The Gammas banished past the borders of Blackroot and into their new home of Gamma Rock, were never allowed back to the life they once led. They were branded heretics, murderers, rapists, and thieves. The Magisters believed that the Goddess couldn’t find room in her heart for Lycans so ill of the mind. If a Lycan dared past through the Barren Fields, chances are you would never see that Lycan again. The Snowy Mountains: Past the Barren Fields lies the monstrous stretch of mountains that touch the tips of the sky. It wasn’t normal to see their snow-capped tops because of how large the Goddess sculpted their magnificence. In the center of the Valley, The Mount hung its head the highest. Miles and miles into the sky, it is believed that the five, all-powerful White Ones live at its summit but never let any Lycan through its cold gates for millennium. Why? It simply wasn’t time yet.
