Bodywraps are incredibly effective in improving body awareness, balance, coordination, and confidence. Always introduce the bandages slowly in an enclosed area. Horses who are nervous of tight spaces, things coming up behind them, hyper sensitive to the leg, uncoordinated, or reactive are excellent candidates for a Figure 8 Bodywrap. It really helps them to collect themselves, it helps if they have difficulty lifting their feet and you can also use this to help them when the farrier comes and they need their feet trimmed. They will be better balanced and once used to the wraps will be more relaxed for the farrier. A friend of mine is a natural hoof farrier and he uses them all the time with the horses he works on.
