https://youtube/watch?v=mE9bmxc9gNI Trail run clips from an expedition couple months ago ;] [Sequoia National Park] We ran/hiked the High Sierra Trail starting in Crescent Meadow of Giant Forest, traveling past Bear Paw Meadow to an elevation of 7,880 ft. We ran for quite a bit on mostly gradual inclines overlooking majestic views of the Great Western Divide. 25 miles of tremendous mountain scenery, jagged peaks, awe inspiring canyons, alpine lakes, lush meadows, and expansive clouds and sky. We could barely walk by the end of the day...but it was worth it. Two black bears crossed our path, only 50m from us.. After our yelling and waving like maniacs, they shuffled off and we grabbed the nearest big sticks in sight. Shortly after we saw another bigger bear from across the ridge, which also scurried off after we blew our whistles to warn it. Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon contain over 800 miles of trails! You can take one of two approaches to explore -the Eastern side is rain-shadowed and arid and the Western side is forested, lush and dense. Happy Exploring!
